My hope is to use my knowledge of birth and nurturing presence to guide you on your journey. I believe that with a little support, you can have an empowering, safe and fulfilling birth experience. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, what your age, nationality, beliefs or background is: I will love and support you first.

Did you know...

STUDIES SHOW

that when a birthing person has continuous labor support, both the birthing person  and baby are more likely to have better outcomes!

Overall, people who received continuous support were more likely to have spontaneous vaginal births and less likely to have any pain medication, epidurals, negative feelings about childbirth, vacuum or forceps-assisted births, and Cesareans. In addition, their labors were shorter by about 40 minutes and their babies were less likely to have low Apgar scores at birth. There is a smaller amount of evidence that doula support in labor can lower postpartum depression in mothers. There is no evidence for negative consequences to continuous labor support.

SUPPORT BEYOND HOLDING YOUR HAND

My background as a nurse means I'm able to offer my doula clients levels of support that go beyond the norm. This is what I bring to the table...

Risk literacy: Facing risk in your pregnancy? I'll help you stay informed so you can make aligned decision for your family.

Medical navigation: I'll answer any questions you have about navigating the nitty gritty of hospitals and medical systems.

Advocacy strategy: Providing questions and insights that help you have a voice, preventing regrets about choices or coercion.

CLIENT LOVE NOTE

Working with Bri was such a pleasure, she provided invaluable support and guidance for me to prepare for my first birth. Her background working as a nurse allowed her to provide me with information on hospital protocols and what to expect, and her training as a birth doula allowed me to feel supported throughout my labor. She helped prepare me and my partner for labor with preparation meetings and helped us create a birth preferences list, and was there for me during labor and delivery of our beautiful baby girl. Bri was the energy we needed during labor: Calm, caring and confident. I don’t know what we would have done without her! I can’t recommend her enough, especially if this is your first birth.
